Regis Foster

Regis Foster - Community Leader with Special Education Background

A former special-education teacher in New York, Regis Foster spent two decades at Port Jervis High School, where he taught world and American history, economics, and government. He also served as case manager for students, wrote and monitored Individual Education Plans, and developed and maintained student behavior-management programs. Regis Foster was president of the Port Jervis Teachers' Association union from 2011 to 2018.

Mr. Foster also provided support to students as elementary and secondary summer school principal and was alternative education co-principal in 2006, 2008, and 2009. During this time, he oversaw the at-risk and remedial programs for students in grades 7-12 and planned a pre-GED program for those aging out of special education.

Regis Foster has held several leadership roles in his community. He is financial secretary for the Port Jervis Knights of Columbus Council and former treasurer and secretary for the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge #645. He holds a master of science in special education and educational administration from East Stroudsburg University.
